Oh how I wished that I had taken more photos in the old days…
Having said that, I am really pleased at the photos I do have.
When you could afford to buy a roll of film for the camera, you tended to be very selective in the shots that you took back then; because you never really knew when you could afford the next one.
In recent years, old friends would ask; do you remember such and such…
Then would come; I don’t suppose you took a picture of…
It’s just great to see their response when I say yes I did; kind of makes it all worth while
I am so glad of all the photos I had taken in the early days, but always think; if only I took more…
I would like to share with you these few folders, of course, they are not all old, but way back then the seed was sown. I guess it was my Uncle that got me interested in photography at an early age, he was always eager to show me what he was using; thanks Archie.
Due to time restraints & other projects, this site is not updated as regularly as I would like, but look out for the following; birds, motor racing, & more of Lorries pix all coming very soon.

My main hobby is still aviation, and a separate site at www.airpixbycaz.co.uk covers this fully, should you wish to view. Lets just say, I have a few aircraft pix in my collection taken in the last 40 years. I have a new site under construction, & this can be viewed by accessing my current site using thr prompt.
I was lucky to get a camera as birthday present from my parents in the late 50’s. I felt very privileged with my Kodak Brownie Starmite, which took the then new 127 roll film. Various 35mm rangefinder cameras followed. I worked in several camera stores, so I was quite lucky to view and try many different cameras. My first SLR was a Pentax S1a, followed by a second, both served me well for many years. An Olympus OM-1 came next, but rarely used, & it eventually became a back up camera. I have always wanted a Nikon camera, so it was not surprising I purchased a pair of Nikon FE’s in the 80's, these being traded in for a pair of Nikon auto focus 401x cameras in the 90’s. With the advent of digital, a few were used as point and shoots over a 4 year period. Then once I used a friends Nikon D70 DSLR in 2005, well, that was it, I just had to get one. I am now solely digital, and shoot on a Nikon D70, D50 & D100. My D50 is now used by Lorrie.
